A few of our excursions on offer
Old Goa and Panjim City
Goa has much to offer history wise, from grand cathedrals to colonial monuments. This tour takes you to its two atmospheric capitals - the current one, Panjim and the former, abandoned city of Old Goa. In the Middle Ages, the latter was called the ‘Rome of the East’ and boasts vast churches and museums testifying to its past glory. Visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, where the missionary St. Francis Xavier lies in a silver casket, before seeing the Se Cathedral, with its Golden Bell - Asia’s largest bell. You’ll then admire the 16th century Viceroy’s Arch After leaving the tranquility of the old capital we leave for the hustle and bustle of Panjim where you’ll have some free time to shop for souvenirs in its markets and streets.
Island Picnic
Ready to kick back and relax? Then come with us to Grande Island for a laid-back day of sailing, swimming and sunbathing, topped with a beach barbecue lunch. First, you’ll take a ride on a typical Goan fishing boat, swooshing over the shimmering Arabian Sea to Grande. This idyllic island just off the coast is famed for its stunning reefs and marine life. On the way, keep a lookout for dolphins - the seas here are home a high concentration of these playful mammals. There’s also time for a spot of snorkelling and fishing with your friendly crew on hand to show you how. Afterwards, you’ll drop anchor at a quiet beach, with ample time to top up your tan, go snorkelling or even play footie on the sands. And while you’re relaxing, your crew will sizzle up their catches, serving you a delicious barbecue lunch before you make your way back.
Dudhsagar Waterfalls
This tour homes in one of Goa’s natural spectacles - the Dudhsagar Waterfalls. Set in the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, these breathtaking falls plunge 300 feet down a cliff, creating misty clouds that earn them their ‘sea of milk’ name. And it’s a real adventure getting here. Driving through Goa to neighbouring Karnataka, you’ll pass remote villages and green paddy fields. Next hop onto a 4x4 vehicle to rumble through tropical jungle to the falls. Then it’s a matter of drinking in the fairytale around you. Swim in the cool rock pool at the base, showered by the cascades. Sunbathe on the rocks and snap the amazing jungle scenery. Or sit in the shade feeding nuts to the monkeys. After that, it’s on to a nature camp or Spice village for lunch and more time to enjoy the beauty around you. Then, suitably refreshed and relaxed, it’s time to return to your resort. A fantastic day out.
Jungle Book (Day Trip)
Nature lovers shouldn’t miss this. You arrive at a tiny hamlet-come-elephant camp. And from there, you can act like Mogli all the way. Ride an elephant and bullock cart. Swim in the river or enjoy an optional massage. After lunch, watch an elephant show, with the chance to feed these wonderful animals for yourself. Before heading back, there’s time to help wash the elephants in the river, getting soaked by their spray as you scrub their backs. A really special experience.
Crocodiles & Spice Trail
Spices and Crocodiles have been part of Goan life for centuries and this tour lets you get close to both. Drive through scenic countryside on your way to Savoi, home to the organic Savoi Plantation. Here you’ll be greeted with a traditional Indian ‘arti’ chant, forehead-marking ‘kumkum’, and flower garland, along with a cooling welcome drink. After settling in take a fascinating tour of the plantation, sniffing the intense scents of vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon in the air as your guide explains how they’re grown and used in Goan recipes and medicinal remedies. After a buffet lunch in the palm-roofed restaurant, stock up with some of the aromatic fresh spices from the farm’s little shop - they’ll bring back wonderful memories once you’re back home. After lunch we cruise down the backwater of the Cumbarjua Canal and into the backwaters to see our friend the Crocodylus palustris (species of Crocodile usually sighted) who basks on the banks of these waters. As you cruise in a motorised canoe look out for lovely birds of various species. (Depending on the Tide the tour may be reversed). On arrival at the jetty we drive you back to your respective hotels BACK |
