 | | Capital of Punjab and home to India’s Sikh population, Amritsar derives its name from the holy pool of nectar that surrounds the magical Golden Temple. Now available for the first time from Goa as a 2 night tour (thanks to India’s vastly improved network of domestic flying!).
Day one: Pick up from your hotel at 0430 hrs for your flights IT3132 Goa – Delhi 0630–1100 (via Bombay) and 9W2633 Delhi- Amritsar 1430-1530 hrs. You will be met on arrival in Amritsar and transferred to 4* hotel Country Inn Suitesor similar in Amritsar town centre where your room is booked for 2 nights on bed and breakfast basis. Dinner can be taken at hotel, or at ‘Crystal Restaurant’ ground floor 200m from hotel, for both options continental and local Punjabi food are available at very reasonable local prices. Optional visit to see Golden Temple lit up by night, it’s just 3km from the hotel. Gates of the temple are open 24 hours, many Sikhs sleep at the temple, and 35000 pilgrims daily enjoy meals provided there. The pool of nectar which surrounds the temple is in turn surrounded by a white marble walkway, as well a shady verandah. Overnight at the hotel.
Day two: Enjoy a sumptuous buffet breakfast at your hotel after which you will be picked up by our driver for sightseeing. You will be taken to visit Jallianwalla Bagh, the now carefully preserved gardens with monument and small museum, location of the Amritsar massacre which took place in 1919. The visit in the daytime to the Golden Temple will allow you to take breathtaking photographs outside the temple, however be prepared to queue on the breezy marble walkway if you wish to enter the inner sanctum. Return to hotel for free time, you can have lunch in the hotel coffee shop or order room service, enjoy a dip in the hotel roof terrace pool or just relax and enjoy the views. In the afternoon you will be collected once more and taken to the Wagah border between India and Pakistan, a journey of 45 minutes through the Punjabi countryside. At the border, a ceremony takes place every afternoon with the border security guards’ march, salute, flag hoisting, and gate-opening to greet the guards and crowd across the border. Seating is provided to watch the interesting ceremony, with much competition between the crowds to make the most noise. Back to the hotel for second overnight.
Day three: After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight 9W 2632 Amritsar – Delhi 0930 – 1035 and onwards on flight SG257 Delhi – Goa 1715-1945. You will be met on arrival and transferred back to your hotel in Goa. End of our services!

There is no escort on the flights or for the transit between flights at Delhi, however airline and ground handling staff are on hand, signage is good, and the airport has been fully modernized.
Be prepared to spend most of days 1 and 3 travelling – it’s worth it!
You are requested to deposit shoes at the Golden Temple entrance, this is a free service and you will be given a token for your shoes, you can collect them after the visit.
You are requested to cover your head inside the Golden Temple. You can use your own scarf, men can tie their own hankerchief, otherwise you can purchase a headscarf for Rs10 outside the temple or even use the free ones provided.
Meals are not provided on domestic flights except for on Jet Airways or Kingfisher, confirmation of flights to be used will be given at the time of booking subject to availability. Snacks and drinks are available to purchase on board airlines at cheap prices.
